Welcome
...to Manual Therapy Online.
The Manual Therapy Online Column is written or edited by Jim Meadows. The column is dedicated to ongoing events, both political and clinical in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (OMT). We will try to update the column regularly with previous items kept available in the archive. If you would like to comment or contribute to the column please e-mail us.
The Technique Peek section will describe a lesion, its assessment and manipulative treatment or simply an assessment technique. The photographs are frames taken from the Manual Therapy Video Series. Unfortunately video frames do not come out that well on the computer screen so please take what you can from them and don't complain about the quality, there is nothing we can do about it (the videos are available of course). We hope you enjoy this section; please let us know.
The purpose of the Case Studies is to allow the participant to integrate the information they have from their various aspects of training and direct it at a simulated or real patient presentation. We will try to include all the information that we feel is relevant but feel free to e-mail us for any that you want. To allow time for you to ruminate (thanks Barrett) on the information and to request and receive additional information, I will not post the solution for a couple of weeks. Of course you don't have to e-mail your diagnosis but we would be interested. We am not sure how frequently these will be posted but we will try to make it regular and frequent. If anybody out there wants to submit a case study please feel free.
The MTO Quiz presents a series of questions related to manual therapy. The questions are changed regularly with the answers posted the following week. If you have any questions regarding the MTO Quiz, please email us.
