Jim Meadows Announces Retirement
from Physiotherapy Practice in Alberta

I am pleased and saddened to announce that I have decided to retire from clinical practice in Alberta and have subsequently cancelled my license. I have been a physiotherapist for 52 years, the same number I have been married, and being that is simply part of me, and I will always identify as such. But to reassure the licensing body, while I will always be a PT I will not practice as one. And my passion for the profession remains as strong as ever.

I will continue to share my knowledge and experience by teaching manual therapy courses online for free and from my home in Mexico and various other locations. These courses will be available to a global audience, welcoming Canadian and international participants who want to learn from me.

Please note: Any previous statements on the swodeam.com website suggesting my current practice in Alberta are now outdated or that I am FCAMPT or a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. I have served the profession since qualify in 1972 and will continue to identify proudly as a physiotherapist and manual therapist.

Finally, I would like to say thank you to everybody I have met professionally and personally through my practice over the last half a century, you have contributed to my knowledge base and my love for the profession. It is usual in these circumstances to say that this is not the end of my career but the beginning of a new phase of it, but that wouldn’t be true and is patently silly. My career is coming to an end and will do so quickly, therefore if you want a piece of me, you better grab it fast, cause it isn’t gonna last forever. Thank you all.
